what glue do u lot use as all the stuff ive used so far dont stick very well, ive tried loads . does everyone also clean off the old glue completely ??

Featured Replies

probably the best way it to remove the glue.

sticky stuff i used was evostick brush on (the solvent one) from b&q hth

gaz

when i do trimming i like to thin the contact adhesive down with suitable thinners and spray it on that way i have a little more time to play with it

Evo stick for me too

best way i found was when you strip off the old covering brush a little white spirit over the panels to remove the original glue it will need a little scraping to remove it some will lift just with washing the panel with soapy water then use evo stick contact the solvent based one, dont use spray glue when the weather warms up the covering will start to bubble and lift

Great!!!!!... Just done mine with spray glue... Better keep it in the fridge....

As above...Evo stick instant contact adhesive...solvent version.

I Found no need to remove old glue.

Just done mine bud but used glue we use at work (Bostik 6092) unfortunately you can buy it in the shops. I found best way to remove the old glue was to brush white spirit on then leave for 10mins, let it soak in, then gently with a wire brush brush the old glue off, peels of no problem. Good clean down with soapy water after though.

Fill.

 as i said karl numbnuts id do it for you :wack:

top tip brush on evo impact from the tin on top of old adhesive and it magically removes it :)

another tip when applying evo impact leave it on surface for aprox 15min then place vinyl leather on to it that way it bonds properly and desnt slip off
