I recently bought a Z.

it was advertise as a Twin Turbo, unfortuntly after looking on this website

realise it not, went back to the man and he say it was the advertsing company and well i couldnt do much abt it since i allready parted with my money.

so, just wondering how badly is the non turbo compare to a turbo

and is it worth upgrading it or better of buying a new Z.

Thanks alot guys.

Yeah it was advertise as a TT,

What do you think of the price i pay . is £4500 too much for it?

i suppose if i really want the bit of speed i can add nos into it eh :)

Mate, if you got this from eBay I'm pretty certain you'll be able to get your money back, although you'll probably end up taking legal action. Likewise autotrader or any other mag: if you've got the ad in print you're sorted. Make sure you have the guys *full* contact details and go pay for an hour's worth of a solicitors time, or go to citizen's advice bureau (free). Make sure you also contact the company that advertised the car: particularly important with eBay since auctions are taken off the site after a while.

If everything is as you say you should be able to take this guy to the cleaners for mis-advertising. If he's running some sort of business so much the better. You may find that the first solicitors' letter or summons to the small claims court or whatever scares him enough that he just capitulates. But if not you're in for some degree of hassle, but you will get your money back, and possibly additional damages as well. I'd say it's well worth it because, if everything is as you say, then he clearly mislead you and took advantage of your lack of knowledge about the car.

Hope this helps.

Bart

If it was advertised as a TT and is not then he sold it under false pretenses. He is obliged to give you your money back or supply the car you asked for.

If you let him away with it he will only do it again to someone else...and the TT is worth having for the money...

Do you have a copy of the ad anywhere?

The mis selling issue aside.

4.5k for a early 93 K plate car. Doesn't sound too bad to me i paid that for my 94 NA a couple of months back (worth noting though that I have since found a SWB Twin Turbo so am seeling up :) ). Mine only had 40ish thousand miles though.

The other quetion I'd be asking though is you state it has 100,000 kilometers. If this was a proper garage part of the conversion process is to reset the odo to miles, so ask yourself what other corners have been cut by this bloke? Is it a fresh import?

That is wrong. You have been had plain and simple. Sounds like this was a very fast deal, as said he knew what was happening but gladly took your cash.

TBH try and get your 4.5k back. You don't realise it now, but in 12 months of being on the forum you will be pretty annoyed. 93 or not ,cleanish n/a's are fetching small money now unless they are something special. I've had both, I'm not running down the n/a because it's just as good as a tt but not as fast and you will come to love it no doubt.

it's just people who take advantage of others shouldn't get away with it.

anyhow ,welcome ,and best of luck on whichever route you take :)

Mate, if you wanted a twin turbo, make sure you get this sorted out!! You should have noticed to be honest, but thats not your fault.

However, if you really like the car, and speed isnt a big factor, just stick with it.

I have an NA and have had no real problems with it in over two years. I would say NAs are more reliable and cheaper to run, but they just dont have the speed/power of a twin turbo.

Saying that, ive beat every twin turbo ive raced.

   i thought for a moment there you were serious :) Don't N/A's max out at 140-145mph??

Going off topic briefly - value wise what is an NA worth?

i went back to the man, he has refuse to deal or talk with me.

say that i should have check before i pay my money.

loadsa arguement and near had a fight, he got some of the fellow to get me out of the yard..

maybe cos i am a small lad they takin advantage of me, threatenin doesnt work

so maybe have to do the legal

in sayin this, i fink the man know what he was doing. he has a few other sport car on the forecourt, skyliner and celica etc..

i somehow got the feelin he know thats why he got abt 3/4 guys in the premise.

if i was to sell this back. what kind of money would realistic people will pay for it

not a lot by the looks of it.

What condition is it in? Mine's newer and lower miles and after a month of advertising at4.5k not had a single call. I have had all the window strips replaced, new tyres, brakes, cd player, air con re-gassed, serviced and not a single viewing. I think I may get3.5k for mine, so a bit less for yours. The thing is next year it will be worth the same figured I may keep mine unless I get a decent price.

Pics may help if you have any.

Dont let him get away with it. Speak to Citizen advice, they will give you free legal advice. Then Pay for a solicitor to send them a letter, this will usually be enough to sort them out.

I assume you bought this from a trader, not a private individual.

If from a trader, he's misdescribed the goods and you can get your money back. Trading stanards will help.

If it was a private sale there's probably nothing you can do.

I have an NA and love it but I've driven a TT and they are quite a bit faster.

You can take the car back and get your money back or if you really like the car ask for some money back from him, try for £1000 but I don’t think a dealer would like that much.

Contact trading standards. Then write the trader a nice letter stating that you know your rights and wish to be compensated. If he doesn't respond then get a solicitor to write a letter to the trader. It may cost you a few quid but as this guy is clearly at fault then IMO you have very little to loose.

thanks guys. took your advice and went to a solicitor to see what he can do.

he say he can write me a letter, and that however since i saw the advert on the internet and now that the advert is off (autotrader), unless i can get some kind of proof within 28 days later there is nothing i can do abt it.

so, i am hopin the letter can do the trick, but also contactin autotrader to see if they have a backup copy of the advert

if the worst, i just get rid of it for whatever amount i can and then buy a TT, and make sure it a TT, I like my current ZED, cant really complaint abt it except for the speed. Which for a 3 lite v6 drive very slow and slugglish but is beautiful when you are curising.

when i took it for a test drive, i didnt press the car, also there wasnt much room for accerlation. but the drive was nice. i was mostly checkin for mechanic and any unusual sound. There was none.

Next time make sure you take it for a good long test drive and give it a boot, its a sports car and some things only show when driven the way it was built to be driven. Oh and make sure it has turbos :D :D

I'd say you paid a bit to much for a n/a with that milage, deffinately a right TT price.

Z32King my car look like yours :)

well if i get rid of it say 3400 lose a 1K now.

you think it is sellable?

Did you insure it as a Twin Turbo?

If you don't get anywhere regarding compensation/money back.

Leave it a few months then go down there one night with a

can of petrol & a box of matches ;)

i havent had it on insurance yet. just had it 2/3 weeks

was doin some work on it before i take it out,

now that i know,i have insure it as a 3.0 only

price was the same for me turbo or NA.
