I recently bought a Z.

it was advertise as a Twin Turbo, unfortuntly after looking on this website

realise it not, went back to the man and he say it was the advertsing company and well i couldnt do much abt it since i allready parted with my money.

so, just wondering how badly is the non turbo compare to a turbo

and is it worth upgrading it or better of buying a new Z.

mate to be hoenst i wouldnt take that lieing down, id push it further, and surly the cost you paid would be too high as most of the NAs are cheaper than the TTs,

he might be right that you looked at it and brought it without noticing its a NA but even so he shouldnt be able to get away with false advertising...

well it a 1993 K reg. TT. got it for 4500. on the clock just over 100Khm

overall it very clean and tidy.

i look at it and fallin in love with it.

that why i wanted to know do the twin turbo make alot of difference

Mate, if you wanted a twin turbo, make sure you get this sorted out!! You should have noticed to be honest, but thats not your fault.

However, if you really like the car, and speed isnt a big factor, just stick with it.

I have an NA and have had no real problems with it in over two years. I would say NAs are more reliable and cheaper to run, but they just dont have the speed/power of a twin turbo.

Saying that, ive beat every twin turbo ive raced.

stick with the NA. It's 13 stone lighter than a TT so is a little more agile for your city streets. And when you get the chance to try a TT, make your mind up then.

I've got an NA too, and I love it.

BUT.....surely the issue here is whether he has been mislead by the seller. If so, he is entitled by law to his money back.

Was it advertised as a Twin Turbo?

Thanks alot guys.

Yeah it was advertise as a TT,

What do you think of the price i pay . is £4500 too much for it?

i suppose if i really want the bit of speed i can add nos into it eh :)

Its an average price for a TT, but expensive for an NA.

If the car was advertised as a TT, and you were lead to believe during the sale that it was a TT, then you are entitled to your money back by law

Dam, i am goin back to that seller then. But i doubt if he will bother

i will try CBA centre and see what they can do to help.

In sayin that, would modfyin a NA be easlier than a TT?

No easier to mod an NA, lets face it modding any 300 aint cheap or easy! ;)

I'd keep the NA if I were you nad ask for some money back (there's some of your early modding budget then!), either that or demand your cash back and tell him you know your statutory rights.

thanks

i am goin to try this weekend.

how much should this car be worth?

Yeah, £4500 is maybe a bit much. But then again, it is a 93 and if its in good order, £4500 aint too bad.

Have you got any pics of the car? Even a link from when you bought it?

You should definately get something done though. Either get all your money back, or keep the car and get some money back.

false advertising. contact trading standards or your CAB for advise

well it a 1993, T-bar the paint work very good, small scratch here and they

interior is spotless, engine is very clean, but i notices after i drive it for 30 mins i can smell burnt oil. in sayin that i cannot really complaint, everything so nice.

It just a standard fairlady. silver. every thing orginal

That is where you got me.. i am abit stuff now if he use that excuse on me

IT say TT

this is why reading an FAQ before purchasing a car you have no idea about!is so important

like wheres the intercoolers

boost gauge

pipework

turbos :smash:

i know how tempting it is to see a car and impulse buy,but its like walking a tightrope

hope it gets sorted and welcome :)

i've heard of this b4 it's advertised as a tt (targer top) not a twin turbo.

That's a b@stards trick, the seller knew exactly what he was doing there! :headvswal

Sounds like you're stuck with it then. Welcome to the Z world :)

...garage I bought my NA off 6 years ago thought it was a TT - I soon put them right - and took £2k off the asking price - came as a bit of a shock to them They had a forecourt full of all sorts of Jap imports - even motorhomes (completely bonkers) so you'd think that they knew their stuff - but they didn't.

i cant believe you got a car that you thought was a turbo, now find out it isnt, and then you are possibly thinking about just keeping it and not taking any action against the garage/person you bought it from???

either way.....welcome!!!

TT in car trader terminology is an abbreviation for Twin turbo and you'll find it in the traders guide glossery of trader treminology's so if he try's that one just tell him to get stuffed and get you money back. Also tell him if you have to take him to court he will have to pay costs as well as a refund.

Don't be fobbed off. For £4.5k there are some real corkers that have been sold on here. Don't make the mistake of buying the first one you see because you really want one. If this guy is trying to rip you off (which he is) then don't have a thing of him and insist on a refund.

"TT targe top" my backside. Targa top is slang for Targa roof pannels so an abbreviation would have to be TRP not TT.

P.S. Tell him if he don't paying ASAP you'll go to the local press. That normally gets em moving.

I hate Tw@ts like this they should be culled.
