There are now websites where worried parents can pay say a fiver a pop and find the current location of their kid by tracking their mobile phone..

 

So how about a cheap and nasty pay as you go stuck up behind the dashboard om permanent charge via a wired in car charger.??

 

if your car gets nicked then just use the website to track the phone.. whaddya reckon?

Sounds like an nice idea :) I was also thinking about hooking up a cellphone to the alarm, and as it goes of it will call to a pro chosen number.

There's an advert in September 2005's kitcar mag for this company:

They have a system, where you put a pay-as-you-go sim in the tracker, and it'll:

- SMS you if the car is tampered with

- SMS you every 60 seconds with its GPS location if it tampered with and moving

- Allow you to text your car from your own phone and get its GPS location back etc

- it records you fastest 0-60 times too!

 

Their web-site is pants though, and clicking on the 'UCS Standard' and 'UCS Elite' don't work!! Ho hum - at least they have a 'request a brouchure' button which does work!

THere was one for £1 but the person would get a text and would have to reply to it. Dont know if its the same
