anyone done anything funky with theirs ever? I am going to need to sort my stereo out at some point, just wondering what if anything anyone has done that is slightly different..my clock is knackered and imo looks very cheap anyway..looking for inspiration....

I'm going to fit my turbo timer where the clock currently is. have stereo in top and silver grille in bottom - will be getting rid of vents and installing a screen shortly attached to carputer.. maybe a couple of USB ports next to the Turbo Timer.

legrath has fitted a screen in his, looks like it was done from new

I've been debating what would look good, the main thing i've noticed is that aftermarket stereo's don't fit very well and you can't get the plastic facias you get with them to fit so you have to mount the stereo without it or slightly proud of the dash - looks crap i think. The original stereo's mounted from the back.

Someone on this forum has spray'd theirs gunmetal silver with laquer over the top and mounted a turbo timer in place of the clock - Looked spot on.

I've decided to mount a motorised TV screen in the top din and a DVD player in the bottom and spray the console gunmetal silver (darker than normal metalic silver) but will need to do some tweeking to get them to fit nice and flush, bit of filing needed perhaps. I got hold of a spare to practice with.

As for the clock, i'm looking round the scrappies for a simmilar sized clock but more modern looking, then i'll cut the slot out if i need to.

Thats my plan anyway.

The Greddy Turbo timers and Boost controllers fit directly into the stock clock position.

mate which greedy boost controller fits in place of the clock.. that job looks sweet and a decent bit of kit to fit in place of a useless clock!

Greddy Profec B Spec II

right, what sort of price do these go for... and (although its kinda thread stealing... sorry!!!) difficult to fit? and any extra functions like turbo timer built in? thanks andy

no thats cool not a bad idea although ive already got some sort of tubby timer in or at least some relay that works off the clifford, its got no digi bit with it so cant really do that...

my stereo also seems to be receding into the console, doesnt look like its fitted at all, and to get it to fit they did a shabby job of cutting the surround so not sure what to do..i sprayed mine but previously had bought that crap cover kit off ebay and the glue reacted...bottom line is i think ill have to start again but want a proper job this time...

did you prime that first or just rub it down? what was the method as it looks quite smooth!

Yep, its a Navan shifter. I was lucky enough to get it from someone on here a while ago. They are silly money new!

As for the center, yes, rubbed down, primed, painted and lacquered. Take your time and you'll be fine.
