Hi,

I'm a newby to this forum but I've always liked 300ZXs, especially the one driven by the girl in the film Teen Agent (Esprit, 300ZX and 900 Turbo, good film!).

Anyway, I'm interested in getting one as a sensible car (I have a tweaked TVR Griffith as a toy) and I've seen a couple of nice black N/A cars (Silverfox, YHM!). I'm curious to know what standard fit features I'm missing out on by opting for the N/A over the T/T. Things like leather, climate control, HICAS, T-Tops, roof blinds, etc. Can anyone help me out?

Of course what I'd really like to do is get a small loan, buy a T/T and crank it up to 500bhp with the aid of some nitrous, but no, I WILL be sensible with this one!

Cheers,

Ian A.

PS. Sorry if this has been covered before, I've done a quick search and checked the FAQ but couldn't find this info.

By sensible do you mean it's going to be a daily driver or cheaper to keep on the road??

N/A's can come kitted out with leather, climate control is standard, no HICAS as that is for TT's, nearly all of them are Targa's and roof blinds might be there or they might not!!

Of course you will also have to decide between manual or auto and SWB and LWB!!??

And the colour is also important........................blue is best :)

The car in Teen agent was an N/A, what more of an endorsment could you ask for?

Just in case anyone missed Tean Agent -

N/As were never available in the UK, this doesn't affect availability as most cars are imports anyway, but may affect insurance.

Climate control and leather were options on N/As (aircon is standard though), I think they may have been options on Jap TTs (standard on UK ones).

All LWB cars have targa tops, SWB can be hardtop or targa but are much rarer. Automatics outnumber manuals by at least 5:1 too.

HICAS is a mixed blessing and a number of people get rid of it anyway.

Think the NA broadly has everything the TT has except HICAS spec-wise.

Also front (and rear?) spoilers different.

I'd say find a good car and don't worry too much about exact spec.

Thanks for the replies, I've decided a black manual N/A LWB with leather and climate control would be the ideal car. I appreciate the point about compromising on the spec to get the best car.

I'm actually looking for a cheap daily driver and I'm looking at the bottom end of the market (circa 2k). Not sure how optimistic that is.

Cheers,

Climate control was standard on all. (there were some early models without it, but they were just for Press Launches, and became an option from around 1995 onwards)

Leather was an option on all Imports.

Na's had Narrower anti-roll bars and I think the spring rates were altered too.

See Silverfox's car for sale in the Cars for Sale section - I think that's exactly what you're after. Can't remeber his price tho..................

A 300 as a cheap daily driver......You must have a bit of cash. I'm looking for a 300 as an expensive daily driver :D
