6 weeks 5 days till my insurance up for renewal and I aim to have a 300zx sitting outside in 6 weeks 6 days ;)

Not been seriously looking yet as I cant afford to insure till my next NCB and if I look too much now I'll end up buying one ;)

Ones I've been looking at are arround £3k mark, whats chances of picking up a semi-decent one for that price? not after a mint condition but something that wont cost a few hundred quid a week to repair & with turbo's that wont blow up in a few months time.

Also whats chances of getting a TT manual? dont really fancy auto tbh but as I will be selling current car before getting the Z I dont want to be waiting too long for a manual to pop up (TT is a must - no compromises on that).

You might get a nice 300ZX for £3K but if you're in a hurry and want a manual too, you could well end up with a rough one.

You'll have to be lucky or compromise somewhere IMHO.

Good luck with a 3K one... there will be a reason it's that cheap...

I'd aim higher, spending more initially will save you so much more in the long run, why scrimp on a grand initially when you will be looking at a LOT more when you need new turbos or all the other things that can be wrong with a cheap Zed. Better to get one that's had all the wrinkles ironed out ie. propshaft/lights/fogs/oil cooler etc. etc. etc. and been in the club. (and no I'm not biased, I've given the same advice to others while I wasn't selling my Zed :p )

That's my opinion anyway :)

Wouldn't spend your time looking for a bargain. I'd spend your time looking for a nice one.

£4 - £5k should buy a nice one. I paid just under £5k for mine. Got a decent one, bodywork is almost perfect, but it has the odd little niggle with it.

Cheers for the advice, will have a look at how finances stand next month.

Is there any buyers advice guides? Sorry if its somewhere obvious but havent looked arround yet tbh ;)
