Has anyone removed the trims along the roof and screen on a swb slicktop .Mine have chrome showing through .I want to remove sand and spray these black again this is all one bit and i think will bend easy .New there £70 a side .thanks taff :hyper:

Have a look HERE , gives you the 'How To' for changing them. Although it's for the T-Top, should work on the same principle.

the trim is easy to do as long as you careful, you have to remember that the black coating also covers the side edging which is rubber and seals against your front windscreen glass. dont sand into this otherwise it will come away from the trim.

 

I re-did my trims i used a small rotary wire brush in my small hand drill, that stripped the coating after aboput 20 mins, then when ready, i used some rough sand paper to key the stainless, i then primed it with plasti-kote primer followed by spraying with satin plasti-kote black.

 

you must let the trim dry over night, as its stainless under there it just needs a little longer to dry off, if you leave it in the sun it will take longer too, just put it some where warm enough to aid drying.

I put up a post in the group buy section to see if any traders would be interested. I guess the trim ia fooked on about 95% of zeds!
