Went down to quick fit to get my new wheels and tyres put together (yea i know i should have known better!) iv got a new nice set of 19" axis hiro's with a polished lip and have been dying to get them on the car and they are the only place local that said they could fit them no problem "we fit loads of tyres that big.. we can do up to 20 inch" or so they say!

 

 

Things start off bad (should have walked away then!) to start off with the tit put the wrong tyre on my rear wheel.. tried to squeeze a 235 on a 9.5 wide wheel rather than the 265!!! then when he tried to get it off (after i pointed out what he had done!) the machine slipped and gouged a chunk out of my new wheels!!! i nearly cried!! :( :( :( :cry: :cry:

 

so they have been sent away to be fixed.. but im not happy! :headvswal :wack:

 

do re-furbished wheels look as good?

i had exactly the same problem at my local quickfit i went in for a puncture to be repaired on my old cav which had a nice set of 17" on them...

when refitting the repaired tyre they gouged a 6" chunk of alloy off of the rim :headvswal they sent it off to be repaired but i had to trundle round on a damn spacesaver for 5 days.

I'v already sorted that one out.. Im just gutted i can't drive my Z till they get sorted! and they where not cheap wheels either :mac1: i just hope they come back A1

Do they realize these tyres are going on a super sports car no a chavmobile? You are capable of doing 160+ MPH I would question them about having stretched the front tyre mate. AND! how good is the repair going to be? NO! ask them for a new tyre and wheel. Go and seek legal advice or theaten them that you are going to anyway.

Cheers Shunter... i hope it wont come to that... i just hope the re-furb is mint or i shall have to get something done.. but at £400 a rim i cant see them being keen or getting me a new one!

your rights are allready affected because you have agreed for a repair instead of replacement , if you said at the time its going on a very fast car capable of 160+ on a race track and you dont think a refurbished wheel would be safe then on safetygrounds alone they would have had to replace the wheel , it doesnt matter about it being 400 quid a rim they are covered by company liability insurance so they would not have lost a penny , seek legal advice and stick out for a new rim on safety grounds .............i saw Kirbs refurbished rims ( volks racing ) and they looked mint

 

if you need a set of rims i have a full set of the stock jap rims sitting in my garage with good tyres on them if you need to loan them for a week or so

cant remember the off set just now.. but ill dig it out for you! they are 9.5 wide at the back and 8.5 at the front and they are 19", mint set of wheels!
