sounds like mine ,common prob. oil change might help

just had this done, that was my first thought to.

its a manufacturing fault. People in the US got a recall for it, like they got a free series II PTU, but the UK didnt.

Syncomesh between 3rd and 4th.

People which short shift sticks suffer from this more as the gear changes are quicker. Only advice I can give you is change gear slower, which is not ideal but its what most of us have been reduced to doing.

I heard some people say chaning the gearbox oil helps this.

:headvswal i also have a short shif kit on mine , this would explain 3rd to 4th crunch, not to much to worry about then. but this would not make it difficult for me getting any gears when warm. do manuals need a cooler or is that just autos.

Try redline mt 90 might work .Mine still crunches but at higher revs than before .Made gearbox slightly noisey all gears though.4 bottles.
