hey people , im having a right nightmare, my beloved lady is due new pads and diska for the first time since i purchased her from a bad owner.

I have spent many months getting her back into shape , and now comes the time to change the disks and pads, unfortunatly ive been told that the early n/a`s had different sized calipers and disks to the turbo model( being the change over year im stuck on what size to buy).

So i need help from u guys on the size i need, the chassis code is -GZ32004958 .

i believe its a ninety but im probaby wrong.

anyway . . . your help would stop me going bald too early and any ideas on size and place to purchase them would be great.

many thanks bren

You will need discs that are 26mm for the NA. I believe that all Jap NA cars have these even though they used 30mm (same as TT) on later NA models in the US. My NA (Jap Import) from -93 had (have now changed for TT set-up) 26 mm discs when I got it.

I think you can change to TT calipers, then you can buy standard parts in the future.

The disks and pads are different between N/A and TT.

the TT parts are easier to get hold of, so why not just upgrade? like me

NA and TT pads are the same. The discs and calipers differ. You can fit TT calipers and discs to an NA without any problem (got to swap both) and it is much easier (and cheaper) to get hold of new TT discs (30 mm) here in Europe.

cheers guys, many thanx on the quick reply, gonna try to get some turbo calipers if possible to save on hassle and money in the future. . . . .only hard bit now is to find some decent calipers that aint too pricey. ive allready spent a fortune as the previous owner left her in shit state, snapped camblt ,leakey water pump an all that jazz, she aint even moved in 11 months, :(

well shes atleast found a good home. i believe from her code that shes one of the first so i need to save her if i can

Brengun, I have a pair of calipers off a UK TT, I think they need a rebuild, not looked at them for a while, the have been painted red and look good, the rebuild kit is available from MJP, how would £60 sound? I am in Ipswich as well so delivery is no problem.

sounds great mate, thanx for the offer.

Im away till next thursday but ill be intouch as soon as im back. Its good to know that theres more than one Z in ipswich, all i ever see are supras and skylines these days. Unfortunatly my baby is gonna be off the road for another couple of months i reckon cos shes in a bad way. She was basically left to rot by her previous owner.

but were getting there.

cheers again bren
