fanny mold heat shields

the little bolts on the manifold heat shields seem to have rusted to the point where i touched one of em with a spanner and it rounded off!

 

can i get at any of the manifold to head bolts without removing the shield, or can i prize it off?

 

 

 

(oh yeah, this is to remove the heads with the engine in situ)

    I think it will have to come off.

    Mine were badly rusted too.

    Just prize the shields off and use a hacksaw to cut through them - they're only thin sheets of metal.

    okeydokey, cheers bud, will pull em to bits tonight - will there be any detrimental effects from not having them later? will anything get too hot etc?
