Well not quite.

As some of you may know my autobox broke about 8 weeks ago.

Finally I have had the a new autobox and torque converter fitted, I was going to go and pick it up tonight but my mechanic says that the left bank or passenger side has smoke black/blue coming out of the exhaust.

Now I am no expert but have been told that because the car has been sitting for so long oil has seeped past the main turbo seal and all I need to do is go and take it on a longish run. Could this be true or do I have another expensive bill coming my way e.g new turbo's. :(

Any help appreciated.

Hope the garage have not been thrashing your ZED...Is it a garage you can trust?

Sorry for delay.

Its deffinately oming out of the driver side exhaust.

The garage is a decent one and wouldnt bother thrashing it about, they have a 1000bhp Supra and a host of other exotica.

Anyhow they have been back in touch and it seems that the front driver side cylinder is off. They have checked for spark (good) fuel (yes) and compression in all the cylinders is good (funnily enough the one that is missing has the best compression).

They even changed the plugs at a cost of £70 even though I just changed them in May!!

Anybody got a clue???

Is there a spark ? maybe a coil pack ?

if shes smoking then shes an injector down more than likely get them to clean the corresponding injector on that cylinder clean with electrical cleaner or simmilar should cure the problem

also pull a coilpack if the engine note doesnt change then thats the cylinder thats down

HTH greg

Hi.

Apparently we have a spark, although its not that good.

Am going to give them a call to try and give the injecter a good clean.

Thanks all

Get them to clean the injector connectors first, as to remove and clean the actual injectors involves the removal of the upper plenum and new plenum gaskets.

Bloody hell, what a comotion, its gonna take ages.

Oh well.
