Ok dude, seeing as you've done everything else to the Z - why not go for a 6 speed quaife gearbox instead?? Know a lot of the rally boys using these and they are virtually bomb proof unless you're running 1200BHP or more! :dance:

Looked at one of those I dont think I could live with the noise they make:(

Not sure about Bomb proof I know a guy that paid 6k for the HKS box and it failed after only 800 miles,the car was not even pushing out 500 horses

stock manual boxes crumble when they hit 500bhp+ :xxx:

better than the Auto's that crumble on standard power then :x:

Mac. now I dont want to sound like a fookin idiot here but... seeing as you have spent big bucks on the beast and you obviously want it to last why cant you have an engineer take your box internals and machine some out of good old STRONG british metal? I know it can be done ok you might carry a bit more wieght but a sacrifice worth making for a stronger box? I knew a bloke a few years back had it done to a track bike that was eating boxes and he was well pleased.

Vin my man,I already have a man in Holland looking into sorting a Supra :x: 6 speed box conversion as the Poopy box is meant to be stronger :o If that fails then its plan B

I've driven 6 speed before and it's a huge improvement IMO.

 

Wasn't there a link about putting the 350Z 6 speed box in recently?

I presume that's even worse at handling power than the Z32 box though! :rolleyes:

Not yet mate but I need it so I will have to buy it.

I loved my 6 speed Alfa 156 V6, I could keep it right on the power all the way through the gears and it definately made it a quicker car along the twisties.

 

It was such a good box I decided to write the car off whilst going for 6th! :smash: :rofl:
