hey guys its me yet again heres i problem for you think about.

last night i went out for a burn in my zed and as i was driving around i heard a ping noise which alerted me to my speedo that was reading off the clock speed bout 300mph!!! but i was only doing about 50 mph

anyway the needle stayed at 300 and icoupler of minutes later when i slowed down to park up the car i noticed the steering had gone very heavy pas was still on but only slightly .

i dont know but would imagine the pas is sensitive to speed , so did the cars brain think i was going really fast and ajust the pas for this speed that my speedo was reading or is it something else possibly???

 

anyone with any advice please help

yes that is exactly what it is.

 

Usual culprits are speed sensor on the gearbox or the speedo convertor.

If you have a speedo convertor try resoldering the joints.

I have the import solutions KPH to MPH which has worked faultlessly now, (de-limits the car too) for 1 year. Unlike my speed sensor ! Which failed and caused the usual power steering issue and autobox shifting problems

Sorry 'import solutions' is the brand of converter which also de-limits the car too. I have had this one and no probs works great
