Not amused with myself today, since february I've done nothing but work on getting qualified for when I leave the Marines. I've been working in networking for 4yrs or so , so decided I should get my CCNA and MCSA in preparation for civvie street. Hardly been out this year because I've been working so hard. Anyway I managed to do the full Cisco CCNA network academy in 3 and a half months which is my main interest. After that I was been doing the microsoft MCSA stuff, which I thought would be a good one to get before carrying on with the cisco CCNP. I've been working on the CCNP stuff over the summer, so had to go back to the MS stuff for the last exam which was today. I had a bit of motivation trouble going back to the Microsoft after being neck deep in Cisco and spent too much time on the forum ('s!) while revising and ended up having to cancel the exam today. The next available date at the college is two weeks time. Need to give myself a kick up the arse! Dave :xxx:

The Microsoft exams are harder than they first appear, not because they're difficult but because you have to give the "Microsoft" answer, rather than the correct one. This is compounded of course by learning the "real" answers from Cisco first !

Yeah, completely agree with that. Although the Cisco was a lot harder I much preferred it as you learn the content and then have to solve the problems. The microsoft ones you just have to take in reams of info, very little problem solving. I made the mistake of going through the videos for the cisco CCNP stuff over the summer, which I really enjoyed. It was hard going back to the microsoft stuff afterwards. Just need to do the last exam for the MCSA. I was going to do a couple more and get the MCSE, but I'm just going to crack on with the CCNP I think, as my leaving date is sooner than I thought and I want to do Cisco specific work so I can carry on with the CCNP.
