The following is how much money each country gets in tax on fuel and road taxes and how much is spent on the road system

 

USA gets £54.6b on tax and spends £54.6b on roads (100%)

Germany £28.5b on tax and spends £20.8b on roads (73%)

France £20.8b on tax and spends £10.4b on roads (50%)

UK £38.0b on tax £7.0b on roads (18%)

 

Where is all the other money going? Obviously not on roads or health.

Years ago when most frieght went by rail the roads were a much safer and less congested and hardly near as much repair (which leads to hold up's) was needed. Then the govenment individually put money into road transport and moved the frieght to road haulage. So they set themselves up with a nice little nest egg. A statement in the Railnews revealed this fact some years back? So now they seem to have found a new way of linning their pockets. OK its true we can do nothing about it at all. But dont it make your blood boil?

Despite what certain elements of the press say this is probably the more accurate truth. Also Prince Charles receives nothing from the Civil List (AKA us taxpayers) ALL of his income is derived from the Duchy of Cornwall.

 

No, our money is being wasted on managers and civil servants. At the height of the British Empire when our government ran half the world they employed a mere fraction of the civil servants that supposedly run our tiny little island today. Plus there are more managers in hospitals than doctors nowadays.

 

And the tax on fuel is just another tax to line government coffers to pay for the inefficient and wasteful over-administration of the country. That and the workshy, the refugees and druggies. Oh and human rights lawyers (read Cherie Bleugh) hired for the aforementioned scum at our expense when someone takes the absurd action of forcing them to work or return from whence they came.....
