The only time i come on here is unfortunetly when i have bad news.

well here goes it still doesn't seem real...

Leigh went out on friday night with a mate he has known for years, who at 2:15am had to call me to tell me that their was an ambulance on the way to the club they were in to take leigh to hospital, this time it wasn't chrones that had sent him in.

The dance floor was so wet that he slipped fell on the wooden floor, but managed to get up, but then the pain hit him and he had the sudden urge to bend his knee (v bad sign)

They took him to city hospital where thay gave him pain relif (but not enough as the nurses on that ward later told us-they have made a complait themselves) he had an x-ray it came back as he had broken his hip at the front.

They took him into threatre just after 9:00 and he was there for 3hrs, they had put pins in the hip to sercure it in place,at the moment we do not know how many.

As you all know leigh has chrones and this can cause problems in threatre as his bones could have been to brittle to mend or he could have had a serious bleed, but thank god he came out still in pain but with no complications.

They have said he will not beable to put wheight on it for about 6 weeks(and we were off to Paris on Saturday).

They wanted to get him into a wheelchair today but at the moment he is in too much pain due to the op and his chrones has kicked in.

Sorry if this post doesn't make complete sense as lack of sleep is starting to set in.

If theres anything us local blokes can do give us a shout.

Hope you get well soon Leigh, and all the best to you too Kitty :)

Your story about the old chap (so to speak) made me smile tho- same thing happened to me the last time I was in hospital. Thankfully the side curtains were drawn, but the guy opposite me had, er, a good view!

Mark

Wish him all the best, and a speedy recovery, and lets cross our fingers that Liegh's luck takes a change for the better.

Sh*t, he seems to be having a bad time of it lately. Hope to see him back here soon.

Get well soon buddy, the club is thinking of you!!

I'm sorry but it looks like you are going to have to put up with me :(

Thanks chunk, yea kinda quessed it was for leigh as i don't recall you ever calling me "buddy" before, it was perfect timing actually as i was with him so could pass on the message as he is finding it very hard to text at the moment due to pain and the nurses (no they are still as bad) keeping an eye on him.

Damn, they say these things build character - well Leigh will have more character than Mickey bleedin' Mouse at this rate!!

I am so sorry to hear about your ongoing misfortune. Pass on my regards to Leigh please Lucie, and I hope you are bearing up too ('cos I can't imagine you're having much fun either :( ).

One day, when you and Leigh pull up to a meet in a finished V8 Z, we'll all reminisce on these harder times as 'all part of the challenge'.

You guys will be fine ;)

Get well soon buddy, take the time to just chill out, think of it as your way to protest about fuel prices  . And try not to let the "sprem doner" next to you pick any of yer grapes without wiping his hands !!

sorry to read your post lucie - plase give leigh my regards

i know you'll have many offers of help but if there is anything i can do then let me know.

best wishes to you and leigh

What crummy luck! I hope that Leigh gets better soon, there is nothing worse than spending week after week in hospital - I know, it drove me absolutely nuts!

All the best...

Gareth

 Been away for a few days, so only just spotted this one

Really sorry to hear this, please send him our best wishes for a quick and full recovery. And to you, keep your chin up.
