Oil Pressure

Hi all

Whats the best way to disable your engine from starting for a few seconds to allow the oil pressure to come up.

I only use my car at weekends and it always catches immediatley and revs to 1500 rpm for a few seconds. This must cause wear if the engine is not run for a week.

Any ideas? I don't mind disconnecting something temporarily but it must be easy to get at and not throw up ECU errors.

pull the fuse for the fuel pump, in fuse box behind the drivers side suspension turret.

thanks, good idea

Thats sounds like the easiest and best way of doing it mate

Would this really cause a problem?

After all a decent synthetic oil will cling to relevant areas anyway, plus if it has a low "w" number (say 5w or even 0w) the oil is less viscous enough at low temperatures to circulate quickly from start-up and minimise damage.

If you're worried then just start the engine and let it run for a minute a couple of times a week if you don't use the car.

Just my thoughts...

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
