I wont be getting any kind of finance on a car so will have a budget!

I would like to stay jap but wouldnt mind anything form the 90's.

would like it to be smart inside and out with a few luxuries not to thirsty. any ideas.

dont want a barge!

was looking at a lexus is200 but they are still abit pricey unless of course one was a auction?

didnt want to go to much past 3k a sits only a runabout but dont mind cars from early late 90's!

also looked at pulsar gtir but there a bit dear still for a good un!

You want a runabout, but you want an IS200...so really, you want a decent second car.

If I was you, I'd get something cheap and cheaful, something that wont burn a whole in your pocket. Sounds crap, but you thought about a Toyota Paseo? Only 1.5, but that means good economy. Wack some decent wheels on it, and you have a nice looking afordable runabout. :)

Currently, my runabout is a Cavalier....not bad for what it is.

I also have a COUGHvectraCOUGH

very reliable mine is, for that price should easily get a V-reg ish plated one,

comfy no surprises and goes quite well. Just a reps car really

HTH

;)

yes I just liked the is200's so was keeping an eye out

DONT GET A VECTRA !!!! What about a honda accord or civic. Picked up a 97 p reg accord for £1200 from a dealer!! for the brother in law power everything 1.8 si 12months tax and test even had valet key and f.s.h. 50,000 on the clock not that it means much but grandads bought um and drove um like pussy,s all we had to do was change the rad a whole £50 caus it was a bit oxidated on the bottom....and it goes well too!!

Based on your choice of the IS200....I would say : (in no particular order)

Honda Accord

Bmw 3 series

Audi A4

VW Passat

Merc C-class

Saab 9-3

What's going on with the rims in your sig pic bandit???

Think it's been photoshopped as there's no side repeaters or door handle

Get a Honda Prelude, fast, great handling and dirt cheap now. The one I had hadn't been properly serviced for 10 years and when it finally let me down it was only because of a worn ball joint (it would still drive it just wouldn't get through the MOT without a new one).

Nissan 100NX keep it in the family lol

Yuk yuk yuk! Nasty ugly vile little car!!

Thats what I'd go for! want one myself actually but probably go for an already engine rebuilt and modded s13. I'd like to use it for trackdays and to learn to drift.

DIESEL DIESEL DIESEL.

If you want a runabout get a runabout. There is something joyfull about 50mpg

i got me a 106 pug...tight fit for me (6ft4) but over 40 to a gallon ..pretty decent....quite happy to drive it knowing i got a zed to play with as well....

I agree with turbopsychosis. Get yourself a Honda Accord they are very cheap now and very reliably. Ma dads has had his since 1996 it a 2.0IS Auto (bought new) for nearly £19,000 (with extras) now whats it worth £1500 if hes lucky. The car hasn't givin him no problems ever. never broken down, never had to call the AA for the car. Hes had it since new and trust me the car can take it hes not them type of people that stroll around, its been drivento Portugal 7 times now with no problems whatsoever always taken to 140mph. Only parts he has changed are aftermarket alloys and Koni Shocks. Passes MOT every year first time.

You could always go for a Toyota Corolla. Ma mums has one a 1998 1.3 G6 3 door had for 2 years now and no also no problems. bought for £2350. Very silent car and quite rare.
