The farmers & Hauliers are planning to protest about increasing fuel prices by blockading the refinaries next wednesday, we all know what kind of chain of events will follow then. I personally support it, Even tho it means queing for fuel etc. What do you think??? :x: :o

i am and im not

what i mean is im all for cheaper petrol but i dont like the knock on effect that it causes

but if nothing is done now then it will just keep going up and up

so im going to vote for yes bring it on

I am totally against a fuel blockade, it achieves nothing. They get a few minutes prime time news and no one does anything about it in my opinion.

Although I am all for cheaper petrol. At the end of the day though if tax was reduced on fuel you can be sure the government would recover it somewhere else!

Well with attitudes like that we will always get it up the arse

I remember they tried to increase the fuel tax in france and the whole country went on strike and after 1 or 2 days the government caved in and never tried it again, i hate the frogs but you have to admire countried who actually stick to there guns and make sure they dont get it up the ass

Roll on blocking it

Mike

BLOCKADE GO FOR IT !!!!!!!!!! i couldnt give a flying fook if it achieves nothing........one ant bite is itchy 50 ant bites could hurt you 1000 ant bites might kill ya this is the first ant bite!! i,m sick and tired of this government bullsh*t every car owner should take one day off and not buy fuel christ its not much of a sacrifice ONE DAY OFF make it a sunday all we need to let them know is how pissed off we are AND I,M MAD AS FOOK!!!!! :mac1: :mac1: :mac1: :mac1: :mac1: :mac1: :mac1: :mac1:

Here, here!! totally agree with you Mike. time we let this spineless government know we are sick of being shafted.

If i remember last time they did reduce the tax on it or suspended the tax increase in the budget for that year?? so was it a waste of time??

This time lets see it through!!

I for one dont mind going for a while without running my car if needed

LETS STICK IT TO TONY :smash: :xxx:

Everyone is missing my point that if we were successful in getting fuel prices reduced we WOULD have to pay for it in another way. For example they would introduce higher road tax prices, they would make "Pay As You Go" road schemes law and so on...

I see Yampies point (ooer) but i say BLOCKADE!! i'll just fill the Z and a few 25 litre barrels up first! :D

NO

they may have to explain what they do with the £60 billion they get in road tax and spend £4 billion on the actuall transport!?!? so wheres the other 56 bill gone tony??

The sooner the government is held accountable for what they actually spend the money on the better and this is one way of making them listen

Mike (in a ggggrrrrrrr type mood now!!! now wheres some pikeys that i can go beat up)

i say yes to the blockade, but as said it wont get anyone anywhere IMO, trouble in this country is we never stand united. anyway back to working & getting shafted all the time!!

Well it worked last time, but if everybody has the "it wont work" attitude then no...it wont. If we all stand together, then yes it will !

All for it. The thing the governement forget is that they are supposed to represent US, not rip us off.

Do as the French do and make them listen, or else.

unfortuanatly its gonna do nothing is it - the fuel companies/government know we still need the same amount of fuel to run our cars

nice thought but pointless IMO

I think we need to protest against other things like dole bludgers etc... ones who take take take. Then there wouldn't be such a drain on government raised funds?

All for it!-but keep with it this time, this country always rolls over, moans alot and does fook all!-bit like the missus really!

I don't think it will do any good to be honest, what did the last one do? fook all the price stayed the same:( :xxx:

I'm all for it but I agree this time it needs to be pushed to the max.

The whole country needs to make a stand...

Something like 85% is just pure tax for the goverment bringing in 22 billion or somewhere round there give or take a few billion lol.. :xxx: easy money isn't it!

Really does piss me off though 'cos they have us by the danglies  .....

cheers Jon..

Unfortunately farmers are the wrong people to protest, all they do is moan. If I'm not mistaken a lot of farmers also get funding from other sources like the government subsidies and EU grants.

I may be wrong but surely these grants and subsidies are funded by taxation? It's a vicious circle which they themselves (farmers) encourage?

People need to step back a see a bigger picture.

Well thats better than it rising by 1p every couple of days!!

IMO its got totally outta hand. Petrol just went up 4p up here overnight. Its now £1 for optimax!

The only reason the last blockade didnt make a huge difference is because there are not enough people with the balls to do it. fook it, i dont mind sitting on my arse all day without the car if it means ill save £30 a week getting to work and back!

Just like the cartoon i posted this morning this IS reality!!!!!!!!! i for one have had ENOUGH !!!! as for taking it from elsewhere like road tax FOR FOOKS SAKE i paid £170 on saturday for a piece of bloody paper how much more can they take caus this is going up weekly, when i taxed my misses car it had gone up since i had the reminder 3 fookin weeks !!!!!! and i had to write out another cheque caus i,d filled it in !!! :xxx: :xxx: :xxx: :xxx: :xxx:

you an' me thinking the same bud!-whole country down the crapper! :(

iam all for it but its like a stab in the back for me as all my vans will be off the road and i have to pay wages and bills but no cash coming in :(

Go for it and stick with it for the sake of our road haulage companies because the cost of fuel for them affects most things that we buy. Not sure about the farmers though I thought they used red diesel that is taxed a lot less than than road fuel? Maybe road hauliers should be allowed to run on red deisel to??
