Hi Guys,

It's Insurance renewal time again. Can anyone suggest where to try for the best quote. Been quoted £678 so far that's with a £500 fire & theft excess.

Cheers

I'm with Bell Direct for a reasonable £583 ( I think) FC, PFNCD but then I am female. The one thing that I would say against Bell Direct is that you are only allowed to repair your windscreen with their approved repairers (AutoWindscreens) - not too much of a problem, but there's a small codicil in their booklet that states that even with their repairers, they will only pay up to £150 per windscreen per claim....and as our windscreens are £541 and I've had 2 of them in the last 3 months, this has worked out to be quite expensive....

Tesco did it for me.

Had to phone them up though - the website just seemed to hang when I was doing the online quote. Geezer on the phone said it was cos they have the 300ZX tagged as a 'special' of some sort and the website doesn't like it.

Hello Mate,

I've got a UK car, Full NCB, and live in London.£620 with Lancaster Insurance.

Tesco quotes me online, however it is cheaper when you phone up. Because it takes more factors into accout, like how many cars in your house hold. The more there are the cheaper.

Ajay Thats a mighty expensive bit of glass! was that a Nelson price? or your insurances approved fitters, because the link below is to a local company who quoted me £180 all in!! I do know though all car glass is one of those mega discountable products which attract ridiculous RRP`s I once witnessed a Porche 944 having a rear glass replaced and the fitter told me as it formed most of the tailgate that they had quoted £2,500!!! wow!

It was the Approved Fitter's price, unfortunately. Bell Direct won't pay anything at all if you use anyone other than Auto Windscreens, a fact I found to my detriment after calling AutoGlass out the first time.

try axa direct on line. they was the cheapest for me by far...

£ 470.00 fully comp me and spouse. £ 250 excess. must have approved alarm/immob'...full n.c.d. protected n.c.d. and legal thingy ...

But was that for an import ? It seems only Tesco that just 'don't care'. Every other company seems to have either a 'no imports policy' or a heavy loading.

Also, Norwich Union do cover imports, but Norwich Union Direct do not ... - you need to go thru a broker.

I went through Firebond but they seem to have stopped doing imports.

Other than that they are very competitive.

yep mines an import

If its an import there a link to Xoticar on the forum which gives a list of import friendly insuerers. If your cars modded its a bit trickier. I used adrian Flux currently for my jap modded Z.
