Help with insurance

GRRRRRRR - I'm so cross I could crush a grape!

Went online to get a car insurance quote for my other car - Altezza RS200.

Got a quote for £510 - thought not bad so called up to pay.

They asked me if I had any accidents in the last 5 years and I said No... but then they asked even if not my fault - well about a year ago I was coming back to the car with some shopping and watched an old git in a scabby old farmer volvo make a 1 inch scratch on my pristine condition Altezza. As this was the only mark on the entire car I took his registration and details (luckily a chap also saw the scratch and offered to be a witness). I spoke to my insurance company and they claimed on the Volvo guy's insurance.. so the scratch was repaired.

I told this story to the insurance company and they have hiked the price up to £625 for the sake of a 1 inch scratch which happened whilst my car was parked up (WITHOUT ME IN IT).

Is this fair and should I tell insurance companies about this 1 inch scratch in the future...?

I can recommend Houghtons for good cheap insurance,a guy called Ken does

some good deals on 300ZX cars.I found this out by browsing through these very forums and am DAMN glad I did.

I run a Starlet from day to day and the 300ZX on a classic insurance, both fully comp but with a 3000 mile pa limitation on the Z and get change out of 450 quid for insuring the pair with them!!! :)

Very understanding people, give em a try
