Drove up to Wrexham today (er...yesterday now!) with JD to visit Leon at Alunox to sort out stuff for the dry sump system and drop off the old manifolds for him to use as a pattern in making up some superior, redesigned versions for our V8's. Met Mark(zx) over there and had a crackin' day discussing the project and generally chewing the car related fat! Leon is an absolute craftsman when it comes to any form of metal fabrication and that's no understatement. His work is phenomenal and he's a top man to boot! (and hopefully if all goes well with the committee, he might be making a more permanent appearance on here in the not too distant future ;))

While we were there he showed us something truly insane. He's designed and scratch built the maddest buggy I've ever seen in my life! An all-terrain, bike engined machine that pushes the envelope of off road vehicle capabilities and completely redefines the definition of hard-core...the acceleration peels the skin from your face and if that doesn't get you, the noise it makes would shear off your head at 50 paces...this thing is utterly mental! The best thing is, when John went off with Mark to do some mapping in his car, I got to have a go...and it made my day! You couldn't wipe the grin off my face! (as you can see from the last pic! Lol! :D). Although it's not quite finished yet (there's still more tweaking to do and it needs to have the body panels fitted and sprayed up) it really showcases the quality of his work and I have no doubt that it's going to sell like hotcakes when he puts it into production! Have a look folks...

This thing really is brilliant. All the work Leon has done is really impressive. Even small parts like the pedals brackets and stuff are so well made.

It's bloody quick too :D

Friend of mine has a road legal beach buggy which he is currently adapting to put in a 400bhp scooby engine! - should also be good fun!!

Never get to use all 400 bhp though, tracktion will stop well before that probably in all 5 gears !! Still, would be a drifter like no other :D My father has a dune buggy which weighs 400kg and has a 125 bhp engine on the back - thats f00king quick... 400 bhp engine would be insane. New poll needs to be posted i think Adz2324's mate vs. macca - who is going to win? :D
