Gotta do the other one tommorrow hopefully it looks like the motor is winking..

anyone no how to get rid of the condensation? is it the sealant issue? its hardly a strongly sealed unit anyway is it?

Sorry, had to do it!

When you pulled the headlight apart, did three little brown 'pills' fall out?

lol ok ill do it when i get the other one in!

i got them done by a company..100 quid for the pair...i couldnt be arsd with foil and paint ive heard too many stories..not exactly an easy job i imagine, at least this was fairly straightforward if not a pig to get the light out (note the singular!)

After 12 years I dont think those pills would be of much use anymore, if you have condensation inside I would say it more likely that its not sealed properly when put back together.

check out robert_sherali in rides...

The chroming was from a company someone advertised on here..i think its about the only company that does it...if someone really wants it i can get it for them...Its 117.50 to get done with your lights..

believe me, im no mechanic ive hardly got a socket set so if i can do it anyone with patience can...the worst bit is all the shearing of things as its all so old, can of worms springs to mind :)

got to do the other side next week...whatever you do get the instructions on here and the WIZARD tip of sawing a flat screw gap on that tricky nut so you dont have to go under when you put the headlight back in...superb

yes mate.. I was thinking of using the silica gel packets you get in shoe boxes but i dont think they would cope with the heat somehow :)

condensation is gone now..for the time being at least

Did you chrome the lens ring too then?

The 'pills' were originally wrapped in foam, so I doubt heat is a major problem in there.

I was thinking of using the silica sachets too.

Nice. Makes quite a big visual impact. Has it made any noticeable difference to the intensity of your headlights? Seems like you'd get a lot more light reflecting off of the sides and bottom etc.

have you got any pics of the car face on looking at the car from a low point .as i would like to see the contrast of the chrome from the fronton a black z

cheers

to be honest the lense was filthy, i really do think after all is said and done cleaning that lense and the inside of the glass would make the most difference. My right headlight is sooo bright now compared to the left, once i do the other one this weekend i should be laughing, if not for the dodgy condensation issue :)

Ill take a lower pic..its amazing how u notice the chrome round the lenses and light fittings that was already there compared to before...
