Which year should I go for when looking for a Zed, by the experience I’ve got so far I guess I should avoid the '90 and '96. How about the '95? And how big are the changes through the years, I made a quick search for this but couldn't find anything (would be glad if someone could give me a link to a list with changes trough the years). :)

i love the 93 mate , beginning of the series 2 , updated controls ( heater ) and alcantara interior , also both passenger and drivers seat electric , but not much in it mate.

90, 91 and 92 are the more commonly available.

The Phase 2 onwards (1993) comes with the Alcantra interior instead of tweed (an advantage if your not going for full leather) and seat belts on the pillars instead of door (for J-spec...all Uk spec have them on Pillars).

and the improved heater controls (can select direction yourself, instead of automatic).

It also has the More reliable PTU.

But the 93 is rarer, and the newer you get the rarer they are.

Karl you make it sound like the pre 93 cars did not get a heater  :)

without wanting to suddenly de-value anyones cars I would just look for the tidiest example you could find 90 upwards if getting an import make sure it is the year your paying for and try and get one thats been unmolested

yep , mine was compkletely standard till i got hold of it  And i meant the heater controls had more directional controls not NO heater u nutta LOL..must choose my wording better. Also only the UK versions of the 93 series 2 spec had a series 2 ptu not Jap ones, they still came with a series 1 ptu.

try and get one thats been unmolested

Except for the ptu and seatbelts issue , theres not much difference. The cars history and condition is the most important factor. By the way i've looked at zeds for sale in holland and germany, and saw some crazy prices. 10k to 18k for 91,92 models, As you're in finland i guess a trip to the UK for one is a bit far , but well worth it. Especially if you buy from a member here.

Yep, most of the ones I find are pre ‘92. A leather interior would be quite practical, not a must though, so alcantra (its also called “mocca” or something like that, right?) would do well. And the leather seems to rip of after some time on the seats on most Z’s. Would be fun to have the newest model with stock HIDs, new bumpers and clear brake lights. But I guess those models are extremely rare.

I actually thought about buying one from on here, but as the UK specs have the steering wheel on the "wrong side" I would have to get one which is imported and have the steering wheel on the left side. If the one I'm looking at right now (a '95) will get sold, or isn’t as good as the guy says I’m probably going to Germany (Not that that’s a very good idea as they have the autobahn where they drive like crazy and wear out all parts) but We've already got one car from there so I know how the import works and you can always find a exceptionally good one :)

Oh, I see :( I'm not sure about the registering regulations here though, but probably you can't register one without "type registering" it, or what it's called as, as it probably would be the first one in Finland.

If you can get it registered on the road in Finland I would go for importing one from Japan Direct to Finland.

FYI series 2 PTU's had nothing to do with the Series 2 Z32, AFAIK only late US cars got this.

My Series 2 UK 93 had the old style PTU

I'm warming to them every day. If only I had 66,000 euro...or even 66 come to think of it   ... But as they're still quite new there will have to be a tt version soon?

Anything after 2000 is the worse Zed to go for IMHO

I don't like the 350z series.. I would rather take a '05 Mustang :)
