Oil Filter

Anybody recognise Champions C109 as a valid fit for my 300ZXTT

???????????????

I had to choose this filter without the benefit of a definite reference ...it has Nissan on the box.

Old filter on the right new on the left..no really :p

Everything seems to line up except those holes are farther out..does it matter.

I would only ever recommend using a genuine Nissan oil filter, saw a pattern filtern explode once, makes a mess of the engine.

Superb response

Champion have been making this stuff for years.

Dont tell me I need to take it back ???????

No, just next time personally I would buy a Nissan one, price is probably about the same £6 I believe.

I usually get in 3 or 4 oil filters so that ive always got them on hand..I'll get Nissan. If they are similar price then its not an issue.

Just for the record, old filter is completely Japanese and is called a PIT WORKS, Champion is same size as Pitworks. (for the Pedants)

BTW Im using Mobil 1 15W-50....( I havent put it in yet )

????????????????????????????????

Thanks everyone

Nissan ! ;) or Mike @ MJP (see traders section)

Champion is hardly what you'd call a 'pattern' filter in the sense that those cheap nasty unlabelled ones are. I use them all the time anyway, except if I happen to have been to a Nissan dealer, which is very rare.

In the dim and distant past I seem to remember a test indicating that the Champion ones performed better than the OEM Toyota ones.

Its all down to personal choice and experience really, years ago when I was in the motor trade Champion had a bad name in the garages I had worked in so I guess thats tainted my opinion of them now.
