where did the idea for 300zx.co.uk come from

 

im sorry if this has been asked before

 

just wondering who the founders were (the gods so to speak lol)

 

so how many members were there to start off with and what gave you's the idea

i believe craig and mike groves originally started it up

Oh yes I was there too, it was very early days in my pc abilities, after a hard drive failure I was helped out by nico etc, sure Timmy Turbo was about then too.

back in the nico era I could get a tank full of 5 star for thruppence ha'penny and still have enough change for the bus fare home. Vinz was away fighting in the Korean war, Macca was 8 stone, Duffers car only had a little bit rust, Chunk had upgraded to a fizzy 50 and liverpool used to be a big club.

And most of you lot were busy sticking KENWOOD on the back window of your crappy Nova SR's

I think Craig and Nico started it off using brave net software or isp or something like that. It was hosted on Craig's works servers.

 

I think I joined about a year after it started.

We has many discussions about whether we should have a Tech advice page, to keep the general chit chat away from people who needed help. LOL

Heh, I was reminiscing about Nico to DaveC only a coupla days ago :'( I wasn't aroundin his heydays, but when I first got the Zed and posted here, Nico came out of the blue and offered to come look it over for me. Top guy! :)

from what i understand it

 

craig and nico had a BBS hosted on some site

craig registered 300zx.co.uk and set up a forum on his work hardware,

him and nico ran it for a while

nico dissapeared,

subscriptions started and craig moved it onto new hardware.

tht hardware broke,

craig decided to set it up as a club and handed control over to the commitee.

we moved onto brand new decent hardware

 

 

I think every long term member has at some point had a dealing in some form with the club for the better.
