An amusing if slighly unbeleivable yarn concerning Harry Halfords in Tamworth.

In my urgency to get a steering rack gaitor to replace the split one I discovered late last afternoon, I (I know its bad) went to my local Halford store to just see if even a tempory universal one was available till got correct one.

The spotty geek (who me) on the counter was asked by me if they stocked a listed gaitor or a universal one for the steering rack on a 300zx. ?????? much head scratching a blank look at his pc screen,he said he did not think they sold them.Hmm are you sure I said, more scratching and now button pressing...what car mate? aarrhhh I say Nis 300zx tt !!! Mmm he says wher would a steering rack gaitor fit then??? AAAAARRRRRHHHH.why the ??? do they employ these guys?? I am all for equall opertunities and that but surely more than 2 brain cells are a requirement.Eventually another guy came..much to doppys relief and said dealer part mate! ok then I will go.

Surfice to say what was the nearly first ad I saw on TV last night? yeh the Halfords one where they say they stock 90odd% of all parts

pity the staff don`t. Lol

I compleetly agree about halfords i can name horror storys about the one in Sutton aswell regarding how much the staff know. I asked for Insulation tape the otherday and was lead to the seat covers ??????/

 

he he he its really pathetic. Youd think that they are a very good company and have money. Why not send them on parts coarses or something

Bit of a trek for you but Halfords Swansea are pretty good & know what they are talking about, it's a superstore though so I suppose they have to be better.
