Phonecall at 4pm from my Wife, hysterical to say she had just been in a Head on collision on a Single carriageway in her MPV. My 7 month old daughter and mother-in-law also in the car.

Jumped in car, and screeched there to find Wife in ambulance, Daughter on Respirator and mother-in-law at side of road in neckbrace surrounded my paramedics.

Spent the evening in Hospital, Wife and daughter now home. Cuts and bruises on my wife. Baby suffered whiplash and has bruises where car seat harness digged in, but both ok.

Mother-in-law having to stay in hospital, with fracturered Ribs and breathing difficulties.

It seems to be my Wifes fault...2 cars in front started slowing, so did she, then they stopped suddenly, her ABS kicked in, car would'nt stop in time and she swerved just before coming to a hault, hitting a Ford Galazy (doing about 60mph - the legal speed limit) coming the other way.

Both cars very much write off's. One of the kids in other car seemed quite badly hurt :( , but not critical. Driver of Galazy had huge go at my wife, threatening to hunt her down and kill her, before I arrived.

The Road (major carriageway into City) is still closed, 7 hours later.

:( :( :(
