Z Viking - how's it going?

Question time!

So, tell us about your turbos...

The good/bad points...

* Lag compared to stock turbos

* Low-down performance (3000-4500)

* Are they re-built using some stock parts?

* What kind of seals / bearings

* What's are the ratings/PSI/turbine size increases from stock?

* Are you glad you bought it instead of the $1000 more for JWT 500/600s

* Other parts you had to replace at the same time...

Where can we find more info on them?

yes, I may be interested... 8)

WOW! Lots of questions...

I'm afraid I can not answer them all :(

I really can't compare them to the stock ones since I've changed so many things at the same time.

I only can speak of the final result which is very satisfying. The lag is less than stock but that could be caused by the billit torque

converter from Level 10. The engine revs directly to 3000rpm giving the turbos an

extra punch.

The turbos were rebuilt using my stock ones.

They have the 360deg. thrust bearing with a ring seal.

Also the exhaust turbine is "clipped" 7% (which is a conservative amount) to reduce the back pressure

at high revs.

I'm sorry but I don't know the exact numbers on the turbine size or anything else for that matter.

I had my actuators checked at the same time and one was in a pretty bad shape so I had it replaced.

The job on them was done by Turbo Specialties in Birmingham, US.

The cost was $1400.

I suggest that you first check with Gyro at DSP-performance (or something...). Do a search on Z32.org to find his number.

A lot of guys in US were using his services with success. We can compare what he has to offer with Turbo Specialties.

Finally, I'm glad I chose them since I'm not going to go with NOS and I'm not planning on doing any internal engine work.

They perform very well but I've never felt the power of JWT600s so I can't compare them.

Good luck!
