Has any one heard anything about it? I have and cant wait. :D Fortunatly the Wigan area has always been a testing area. I heard I should get the increase in september and then every one just after new year.

Did you see the news that NTL are changing to one standard service for all their users by early next year - 10MB :D

Blueyonder are doing about the same

1mb users get 4mb,

2mb users get 10mb,

4mb users get 10mb but pay the same as 2mb.

This is probably due to NTL and Telewest in the middle of a merger!

NTL already own Telewest, they have for years

Who I am with there doing an upgrade from 2mb to 8mb for free in either begining or end of september, can't remember which.

NTL is owned by Microsoft corp. That why they are going to be the fastest interent provider in the country by the end of next year. there aim is to release a internet service called F1 broadband. which BT and other providers will not be able to match with ADSL.

Will they stop being so stingy with upload too then? It's all well and good having loadsa download but ntl upload is currently 256k which is goats ball's IMHO :(

nice :)

will still be the 384kb upload rate, they won't increase this dramatically as they don't want people setting up servers ect

im on 4mb now and rarely used the full download. so 4mb is more than ample!! im gonna downgrade and halve my internet bill :D

I started out with Blueyonder 500kb then they upgraded free to 1mb, so does that include me in the 4mb upgrade?? hope so..

Yes, if you have 1mb now, you will get 4 and they are increasing the upload a little to 384Kb from 256Kb I think it is.

I must admit, I am a bit peed off with the titchy upload speeds, when you got 3 pc's all sharing a connection, it's not a great deal.

But as Stuart says, they don't want you setting up servers :wack: hehe

the 10mb is going to be standard as all providers are wanting to flog TV by web in the next 2-3 years....my friend at cisco is watching the equipment upgrades for the broadband companies fly out the door right now

WIth the blueyonder speed increases upload speed goes up to 384kbits. Which is better but still not good enough to host a small ranked BF2 server :(
