Okay so i've been driving the car for 3 days since all the work and tonight I noticed a wierd noise coming from the engine bay. It is only there at low revs (under 1000rpm) and sounds like a very fast chirping, almost like theres a hand full of crickets in there.

 

I'm guessing its a belt that need tightening, any other thoughts?

The alt belt on mine makes this sound when the battery has been drained regardles of

how tight the belt is.

Its probably the sound of the belts going round the pulleys.

 

There is nothing you can really do about it.

 

Check your belt tightness again, see if any have stretched or become lose.

Also check that it is not the fan in the centre above your head, which relates to the climate control. This makes a twittery sort of noise that sounds like it is coming from the engine bay. Easy to fix.

how do you fix that then mines noisy ????

Bit hard to diagnose on the net without hearing it it could range from noisy or failing belt idler to just a dry or cracked belt.

lol i did it all! (except the cambelt, mickey came and fitted that for me)
