Standard Relay

Anyone know what wires go to which pins on a standard relay

 

I have -

 

Pin 85

Pin 86

Pin 87

Pin 30

 

one is Earth, one is supply 12V, one is switch, and one is supply to device.

86 Coil connection

85 Coil connection

87 Load ( eg. accessory,lights,horn etc )

30 supply ( can be +12 v or earth circuit switch depandant)

 

5 pin relay ( change over relay )

 

86 Coil connection

85 Coil connection

87 Normally open

87A Normally closed

30 Supply ( can be +12 v or earth circuit switch depandant

Cheers Jeff, Im wiring up a relay for airhorns so I need a +ve supply of 12v.

the horn works but blows the 10A fuse if used for longer than 2 secs.

 

so its -

 

30 - +12ve from Battery

87 - to +12v horn.

86 - from fusebox +12v (switched) that supplies horn at minute.

85 - Earth.
