im currantly in the middle of fitting 225mm skyline discs and mit evo 6 calipers, brackets need to be made for these to fit but works out alot cheaper than r33 gtr calipers if you can find them, the evo calipers are just as good if not better and alot more freely avalable.i will post pics in a day or 2. If anyone wants a set of these brackets made up i can arrange this though the engineering place that made mine.

I thought original nissan discs were 280mm and skylines were 324mm?

How comes your fitting 225mm bud?

324mm keep making that mistake all the time

what is the total price you are looking at for the full setup bud?

I paid £140 for my calipers off ebay £60 for the discs and £75 for the ss adaptor brackets

Not sure if I want to see a picture, spent a fortune on my r34 ones, just because they were so hard to get hold of any cheaper

EVO Brembo's are not the same as the Skyline GTR ones, the actual difference in caliper construction, size/strength/mounting etc am not sure on as i can't find the write up i had, however for deffo they use different part numbers on their pads compared to GTR Brembo's, that i do know.

Also if you search the EVO board, so many guys there suffer the brake squeel problem and their ditching em in favour of stoptech and AP.

Still a good upgrade though if it works :)

I'd be interested to know the differences in braking size, strengths, etc. Could be a good upgrade path for others as has been said. Seems strange that an Evo should have brakes as good as a skyline mind? there must be quite a weight difference. What do the Evo guys say about the actual performance of their brakes? I've heard that you get more sqeal on the performance/track day type pads and things anyhow. Dave

i have seen an evo 8 that belongs to a friend of mine almost set the discs on fire with these calipers and stop almost instantly from 100mph plus this is why i have gone for these. just taken the brackets back to have 2 holes tapped and ill fit them tomorrow, there is a much bigger pad coverage area than the standard 300zx calipers and they r also twice the size and half the weight. they can't be worse than the standard brakes so i have nothing to loose.

I've had these fitted to mine for about 6 month's now, from an evo 7 (same as 6 & 8), the actual caliper is larger then the R33/34 calipers. Awsome compared to 300 standard breaks even just cruising round the feel is instant bite. They are the same calipers based on what was fitted to the F40. I thnik they called it the EVO 6 party piece 60mph to zero in 2 secs...

I try and dig out the link when I posted about 'em..

cheers Jon..

Wow, looks really good. I'm envious, I've spent £750 and still using the second hand discs and pads (bedding in, could be warped!). I saw some evo ones for sale on ebay at the same time for much less as well but didn't know if they would fit. Dave

275 quid for bigger brakes, i may be in line for some of these (if i get this fooking house sorted)

dude could you pm me with the outcome please

thanx allan

So if I understand well,

I buy EVO 6,7 or 8 calipers plus the disc going with it and it's ok??

I also need the adaptor brackets and that's all??

Could we do the same with Subaru calipers??

If anyone is interested I saw a set of r33 calipers over on SXOC earlier will try and put a link in a bit. Dave
