Hiya

I read on here that you lost a wing mirror recently, is this correct?

If so is yours a Jap spec and where did you get a replacement and the dreaded how much?

Cheers mate

I got one from Kash for £75. Mine is a Series II import and I had to do a bit of jiggery pokery with cabling and so on in order to combine the two and make a blue one, that folds in and has a heated mirror, but I got there in the end. Depending on what is broken with yours I still have a few bits left and may have enough to make a good passenger side one.

I have had such bad luck recently with the bloody car frown.gif anyway after waking up New Years day to find that the whole mirror has been broken off its stand, I am wondering wether to just superglue it back on but I don't think it wll fold in again?

Do you have any suggestions?

If it's the same part as mine that was broken which is the cast metal post around which the mirror rotates then it is not fixable - you just have to aquire a new part. I assume that the part is not available from Nissan but you could cannibalise another broken mirror, but I'd guess that it is likely that the same part would be broken. You could araldite (superglue would be no good) the whole thing in place but that would be a bit of a bodge wouldn't it ....

Best shot is to get another mirror I think, shouldn't be too difficult, there are lots of cars being broken and also a few people who replace mirrors with ones from other models. You could also do the same, BMW stye ones seem popular.

thanks Andy. yep that sounds like the part in question. I think I would like to stick (no pun intended) with the original so I will advertise in the for sale for a mirror. Does your electric motor work now as I presume I need a jap and not UK? Did you have to replace the arm bit aswell?

Everything works on mine now, and I have a spare motor. I got the complete assembly, so I also have the arm spare too.

Do you need passenger or driver side ? Mac 1 mentioned that he knew someone who was importing a car and would be changing the mirrors. SE also have a more or less complete car in their graveyard that is being broken and then there is Jeff's favourite list of breakers in the Midlands.
