Is it possible to transfer pics on my camera phone to a laptop via Infra Red, if so does the laptop require special software or hardware for this to work.

If your laptop has an infrared port then chances are the software is already on the system. You would just need to switch on the port probably and when it detects a signal from your phone I assume it would do the rest automatically.

Personally if you have bluetooth on your phone I would fork out £20 (probably less on Ebay) for a bluetooth dongle and that should come with software and easy to use.

I e-mail my photo's straight from my phone to my laptop. :o

I have a Siemens SL65 phone that has IrDA (INFRA RED) compatability, as for the laptop it isnt latest spec (Compaq NX9005) so am I right in saying for the laptop I need a bluetooth running through a USB port to allow the pics to transfer.

All this technology is flying about 25k feet above my head just now.

Cheers for the replies guys..........John Crisp

Yampie I cant say if there is an infra red port on the laptop but my phone wont pic up any signals from other devices so it wont send....making me think the laptop isnt infra red compatible.

Kim if it was a works phone I would e-mail them to.
