:bow: Used it for the first time on hols with the family a couple of weeks ago. It has got to be the best invention in recent years. Just imagine going somewhere strange, different country, different continent and have this lovely voice tell you where to go to so precisely as if she were sitting in the back seat. It is F*cking incredible and consistently accurate.

 

I had doubts before I set off and had to get the neighbours to show me how to use it but well worth it. Just wish i could afford to have it put in my Zed. I have to say it again, ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE :shock:

Aint they great mate. I have got the portable Ipaq tom tom and it also shows me where the speed cameras are. Sometimes it takes me the longer way round but to be honest it always gets me there in the end. Will it kill peoples sence of direction in the long run?

I dont think it will rich but if you want to borrow it mate it does show you all the local chip shops..........(im such a bitch) :dance:

Example. I was staying in Manchester with my wife's family. For me it was hard enough to find the local kebab shop (Oh you're kebabs with naan bread , gotta be the best beer food ever!), anyway decided to take a trip to Zedworld. That morning i got into the range rover (not mine obviously) and typed in the postcode. I never looked at a map, hadn't a clue where i was going but put on some nice music and settled in for the journey on my own.

 

After an hour and a bit of "take the third exit of the next roundabout" and "bear left on to the M56", I was told " you're destination is ahead on the left" Yeah sure i thought as i headed up this country lane. Then sure enough as i spotted 3 Zeds parked in a line she said "YOU HAVE ARRIVED AT YOUR DESTINATION"...................................just doesn't get cooler than that!

I have had one for over a year now, and they are great.

 

Took me a destination right in the middle of Birmingham. If I didnt have that I dont think I would have made it.

i;ve had mine for a few weeks and its amazing, I actually have a worse sense of geography than jade goody, but the more places i go with my GPS the more places i learn :)

 

I like it because I can drive anywhere without worrying about getting lost and getting home, me and kerri went to northampton for the weekend and drove around the area with the GPS off, when it came time to go back to the hotel we just programmed it in and off we went,

Here u downloaded the lastest software for it bud , which shows all the Pukka Pie outlets and kebab shops :tongue:

Luv it ! Also some very handy add-ons like Nearest Shell optimax garage, cash machines..etc

 

Its also great for unknown country lanes, where you can see which way every corner goes on the screen before you approach them.

the best thing since sliced bread i use tom tom 500 on a regular basis and it has only ever got it wrong once (ok i did go the wrong way) but its well worth the money and i reccomend it to everyone

Talking of tomtom 5 for mobiles phones - does anybody have a *backup* copy?

I have tomtom 4.430 but im sure the UK map is not up to date either - its Great Britain Navigator Map V280. If anyone has a newer map . . . . . ;)

Really whose was it?

My Tom Tom Go 300 is an amazing bit of kit, found my way to Yaseen's house in lec's no probs, only problem i found was in the town centre it was not reconising bus lanes and it was trying to tell me to drive through them.
