Sorry to interrupt the lurrve for this pic, but it looks more like Google Earth or 3D world map to me. You can see the mid atlantic ridge and continental shelf - through the sea. No way would Europe and the Atlantic be completely clear of cloud like that, the Azores high is usually full of stratocumulus at least.

Also you are looking at the sahara, the sun makes it look white cos its reflecting off miles of extremely dry land!
