I have a squeaky fan belt I think its a bit loose how do I adjust the alternator to tighten it up? Do I have to undo all 3 bolts then tighten the adjuster screw? Or can I just tighten the adjuster screw by itself?

slacken off the bolts mate or it will strain the alternater mountings, I have seen these break off. New alternater please! ;)

Ok then i'll undo them, looks like it's going to take at least an hour to do this job as the easiest way is going to be taking the fan and shroud off to get to the bolts, or is it better to do it from under the car?

do it under car bit of a struggle with rad in to reach 17mm pivot bolt dont completly undo it or the bolt bracket falls of the back then you have fun remove 13mm nut on back of tensioner then do up 13mm ajuster bolt until enough tension is required

OK, so do I have to undo the bolt at the top of the alternator, or just the one behind the adjuster and the one to the far right, looking from above?

There are 3 bolts and the adjuster if I remember right.
