Is this so you can decide on engine crane or something like that?

yup, a friend is selling a hydraulic engine hoist but its only a little one about 750lbs lifting capacity, and im gonna need one in the next few days ? looks like i might have to buy one, can anyone recomend a good'en ?

That would do the trick I reckon? You have to take all the ancils off anyway to lift the engine, and you don't have to take the gearbox with it. My mate was doing his with a very small crane, but he was a bit of a cowboy. I don't know what weight my crane takes, its a bit beefier than his, prob a 750 jobbie. Hmm I think I'm rambling a bit!
