Having been inspired by someone on here who said changing those drippy silicone filled bushes for the Superflex ones was a doddle and achievable on 1 and a half hours, today the sun came out, it went above zero and I went for it.

Got one side done in 2 hours. Bitch is gettin the bolt out of the bush cos it wants to go where the intercooler plumbing is maybes an NA can be done quick! The old bush is pretty squidgy - anybody got drippy ones get them fixed now. So got the bolt out by pulling the arm at an angle allowed by said wobbly bush.

After trying the vice to force (Muller was the term used previously)the new one in and having it pop out all the time - dont you just hate it when that happens! I got it right in there - so satisfyin. But gettin the bush bolt back in was not so easy. Had to almost drop the suspension mount and roll bar mount. New bush much stiffer!

So even with one side only done so far the car feels different and the brake shake is gone. Seems to me that when these bushes go the brakes shake and the wheels move back about half inch under braking. They also toe in and wear your tyres due to the steering geometry.

TT-TIM did mine for me as i supervised instalation biggrin.gif

Apart from us breaking the drill bit it all went pretty smoothly and has made huge difference to my braking (not as much as the brembos biggrin.gif) but car is dead steady now. Well worht doing i think in general.

For the record we did it in about 3 hours total work time.

SUPERVISED! Hmmmmmmmmmmm, chocolate teapot biggrin.gif

Willie, the tip with the bolt is to remove the bottom intercooler mounting, that will give you just enough angle to remove and replace the bolt, don't be afraid to prise the bolt free or to 'tap' it back in with a hammer.

Good luck with the other side.

Thanks a lot for the tip. Thought it was you before who inspired me but I couldnt find the previous posts.

Yet another tip with the bolts is to buy two new one before u start (£2 each) and after undoing hacksaw the heads off and push through the easy way ,when installing fit them the other way around so the nut fits the end that has restricted access.

When I 'supervised' someone doing this for me we intended to remove the bolt and place it the other way around, however the correct bolt is tapered and only fits one way ! We discovered that you could loosen the plate through which the bolt goes (3 or four more bolts) which gives enough clearance to remove and replace it easily.
