Anyone got a mobile car kit mounted in a hidden place?

Hello,

Just put a mobile phone kit in the car and I'm not putting the phone holder in the usual places, as it's in the way of passenger and I like to have as little on show as possible. As anyone installed it anywhere out of the norm?

Currently I'm considering putting it in the central storage box, obviously I would not be able to see the screen very easily. But with auto answer and one key dialing I don't think it's going to bother me to much...

Cheers,

Jez.

ps. I assume one has had interferance problems with other systems in the car? I've tried to be careful routing the aerial, but the traction control and ABS take a similar route.... 8) ... just don't phone me on a corner!

Yes I have my V series (Motorola the tutles like to hump) car kit hidden in the armrest cubby box. Voice recognition so don't need to have a handset, cant see it so people think your mad when talking into thin air. Interfacing with Bose is a no go as far as I know but I knocked up a relay and timer circuit to shut the feed to my front speakers and connected to car kit output, sound good, much better quality than little tinny speaker that comes with it.

email me paul@arundon.com if you have any more q's.

Sorry, what car kit have you got and for what phone, you might be able to buy a external handset for it?

Use a screen mounted tax disc aerial, no problem with mine but about twice the price of normal glass mount.

I've got the Nokia kit for a nk702 phone. I don't know how much more I paid for the aerial but it works out to about £100-£110.

No voice control! I think I'll have to go for the obvious screwing into the side of the stereo console area and be done with it. 8(

The kit also explains how to wire a relay up to the stereo power to turn it off during a call. I will go and buy one somewhere...
