I've had a post here for a while about the problems with my zed. The problems are slowly getting worse and i've been off the road now for weeks. As the zed is my only car im buggered. I cant drive it to zcenter or ztech, one because I dont know if it will make it, and two because I dont have the time.

 

Its a real problem now. Please, does anybody know of a mechanic in the herts/hatfield area that could help me? I really need to sort it out.

I mentioned smoking on that thread too, but I'm sure now that that was just condensation. I'm taking the car to another garage next week, I took it to one a week or so ago and their diag tools couldnt find a fault. They gave me a number of this other place. I phoned and they say that they arnt sure if their tools will be able to read the car either, and they are going to charge me a min of £45 for the pleasure.

Jay - wish I could offer technical help but I'm useless at that stuff.

 

Get it to Ztech or the Zen Garage (they have lots of places I think) if it's nearer or maybe Zedworld in Tamworth.

 

My local garages haven't got a clue about a Zed and most others are probably the same.

PTU is a likely suspect. you can do a diagnostic test yourself by shorting out 2 pins on the diag socket - displays a flash code on the dash.

I had a similar problem not long after I got my Zed, although not as bad as you are having but it was getting worse. It turned that it had the wrong type of spark plugs in it, changed plugs for the correct ones and it was sorted. Seems likely that you have checked the plugs but just thought I would mention it. Oh btw changing the plugs is not as easy as you would think if you are technically incompetant like me.
