OK so I,ve had a look, 555 hp Ummm!, Auto box with the added extra of an oil cooler, 555hp Ummm!

 

Im sure i can smell something!

 

Must be getting cynical in me old age. Didnt SE do all the work? Oh yeah, of course its got 555hp with NO2 of course!

I must have believed all the hype on the forum over autoboxes self destructing if u fit as much as a K&N filter to the car. Dont get me wrong mines an auto, allways put me off tuning the thing, nows wheres my Visa card and HKS's website!

yeah but IAN as im sure youll agree 400 bhp is a long way from 555bhp lol and well im not going there with se lol.

 

Have they got a dyno chart in the article, cause figures are very easy to come buy in the estimation process. Its like guys saying well i did 0-60 in 4 secs (i measured it with with a stop watch lol)

 

Besides its an auto and there aint no way in hell thats making 555 bhp without some serious gearbox mods. (no im not starting a thing here but i do know auto boxes dont handle that sort of power) or am i wrong

Oh God, now what have I started, no theres no dyno figures in mag, basically hes got SE Hybrid turbos, exhaust doesnt state what one,SE chip, HKS plugs, HKS line controller, bigger intercoolers and 75hp NO2 jets = 555hp??

 

0.60 4.4 1/4 in 12.5 (could be his own figures, and it sounds like it is?)

 

States it was dynoed on a boiling hot day at 480 bhp without the laughing gas!

Ok Warren I can't see why anyone would shoot you down for a post like that,It has a valid point and it is not aggresive wink.gifLOL!There is so much CRAP flying around about the autobox mad.gif.The auto gearbox fitted in the Z32 is a basically good reliable unit,and when in good condition is capable of transmitting 400 bhp reliably.The only downfall is that it does sap more power from your engine than a manual.When the autobox fails,9 times out of 10 it is the clutch packs,But don't you manual guys have problems with the clutch? How long would a STANDARD clutch last with 555 bhp? biggrin.gifYes Warren 400 is not the same as 555,But I am not running NOS,however I will be in the next few months wink.gifMy car is 422bhp to be exact,and with a 100 shot of NOS it wont be a kick in the arse of 555 biggrin.gif.O and yes my gearbox has been uprated to a fast road version.

Can I just make a brief point!!!

 

We don't get boiling hot days. I mean, just look out of the window. At the mo' my car is under 4" of snow.

Oh clutches dont even go there ian lol frown.gif

 

I have just purchased me a triple plate jobbie that should last a bit better than the other one i nuked lol.

But having said that in theory this should be my last purchase for clutch. And they are really not that expensive.

If you go for nos then will your box need upgrading from what it is and if so how much will that cost you?

 

 

While we're in clutch territory I'll need to know what is going to be suitable for my car as I'm not planning on monthly changes !!! So for something like 350 ft/lb of torque and 330bhp what would you recommend ?

andyp go for this bud honest youll not need any more.

My centreforce jobbie i had was very good but more expensive and will last if driven decently. Mine just gave up the ghost after 10 000 miles.

speak to these guys they do knwo a thing or two and the clutch is not that expensive.

at around 400 squid, it is guarenteed 550 fpt (not sure fo what you do there for foot pounds of torque)

 

Bloody hell - and you were telling me that manuals were cheaper to keep going ! wink.gif LOL

I've just noticed the mag states its a 12Valve 300zx?. Blimey that means it might make 1010 bhp with the other half of the engine!

 

Please dont buy this mag its not worth the cover charge, its about as good as this xmas's Only Fools and Horses!

 

But the Z is very nice and looks well sorted its just the reat of the crap in there!

 

Oh and its a red one!

Guys there is a guy over on T.T.net that met the owner of the most powerful Z in japan (850bhp at the wheels without NOS!) and due to the fact that he was going through driveshafts at a rate of 4 a year (it's his everyday car!) he has fitted a 6 speed sequential box from HKS, cost? $7000.

I don't know about you lot, but I'm starting to save....
