Hi all,

 

Can someone tell me how hard it would be to replace the steering rack on a 91 300ZX NA. Can I use a steering rack off a 300ZX Twin Turbo? If so does anybody have a rack for sale or one for a NA? I will have to do this work outside my house. any special tools required.

 

Dare I ask, has anyone got any advice regarding what I'm trying to Achieve with my ebay add. Any suggestion good or bad welcome?

Well it looks like a nice car for not a lot of money, but hey! wot do I know??

On the parts front, I have a NA rack available for sale and all the hoses if you do decide you need anything.

BUT Im off to Spain tomorro for a coule of weeks.

Oh lastly. IMHO Keep the NA... forget about getting a Twin Trouble model. :nono: :rofl:

A rack on a TT is a pain in the arse to change,

Sorry never finished what I was gonna say there...its an difficult job on the deck, I was lucky to change mine at my old employer over a pit.

Sorry cant answer about whether TT and NA are the same.

You go for it dude, rite idea is to sell your cracking looking n/a for as much as you can then you have the bargaining power of cash to go looking for that TT model, an believe me your gonna love it.

Common sense tells me to sell the TT (cash problems ect) but i just don't think an n/a will come close to satisfying me ;) Look long an hard around your TT perspective car though as i'm sure you'll already know there are a lot of old dog's out there with not so scrupulus owner's ready to take your hard earned coin an sell you a pile of steaming poo!! I travelled many mile's an looked at several car's/wreck's before i found mine rite under my nose on E-bay, an it's a good-un, guess i got lucky, just like the person who buy's yours.

Far as i can see you have been dead honest in your discription, an thats all that matter's.

Thanks for this infor guy's, looks like I will might as well jack up the car and do the Rack & Prop bearing at the same time. (Anyone got a PIT I could borrow). All I need to know now is, can I use the Rack from a TT 300zx? Any reasons not to if it will fit?
