Just got some porterfield front and rear pads and now need some nice discs to go with them, standard will do fine on the back but not so sure about the front, what can you suggest?

Car is a 300zx tt swb.

One of the main gripes with a Zed has gotta be poor brakes, so rather than buying general Motor factor discs, try some nice DBA's mate, biggest selling disc in Aus for the skyline and Zed guys and i have em on my rears too :) Prices start from £210 delivered for slotted version, front and rears are same price.

drop me a line if interested.

Nice discs mate but too expensive for me just now sadly.

If you just want a set of cheap discs for the porterfield pads to chew up then try one of the cheap web based places ( http://www.speedways.co.uk/shop/index.html ), if you want something decent (you really do!) then speak to the traders and ask what they recommend - make your own mind up from what they have to offer.

I went with Brembo discs (no cuts or holes) and have not managed to warp them.

The porterfiled pads did them no favours though - on the other hand I did stop faster than a motorbike!

have fitted ebc turbo grooved discs and red stuff pads to my car today will let you know how the work soon enough

mate i have ebc Im interested as to whether 1. even after bleeding your brakes are stil ****...

2. you get a constant quiet scuffing noise even when not braking its a rotational noise..

3.. your brakes wouldnt stop you from speed

chris ;)

no need t bleed the brakes after doing discs and pads yeah you will get a slight scuffing noise this is totally normal with grooved discs

as for stopping from speed i have not tried it yet but will be doing some more serious mileage tomoro

cheers jay

ok but I have mega brake fade when at speed and everything has been done fine!

might try some different pads
