FCUKING LIGHTS

My son bought me some lights for crimbo the small blue ones you can buy from halfords thay are all fitted and just had 1 wire to connect last night but was dark so i tryed to do it this morning and after about 3 hours of swering and coursing i still havent don it i want thae to come on when i put full beam on and not to be on on dipped beam so its easy or it is on every other car you just connect the wire which comes out of the relay (got prewired kit free) and connect it to the wire that goes to the main beam bulb but there are two wires that go to the bulb and they are always live weather the main beam is on or the dipped beam and these wires go to the bulb as far as i can see so i dont know why the bulbs dont light even though ther is a live to it is it something to do with when the power is on it turns into a return earth or something eg positive becomes earth and earth becomes positive like on some electric windows i am going to have a look under the steering wheel cowling to see if i can find a wire in there

any help would b much apriciated if i could spell it any way lol

The headlights are switched by the earth m8 wink.gif In other words they have permanent live feed and a switched earth...

How you'll work out the wiring for this I don't know due to over indulgence on Stella wink.gif

Let me reply once I'm sober if you get stuck biggrin.gif

Hang on a second toger, you have discovered Nissan`s unusual wiring connections to the headlights.

Nissan have configured the headlights to have a permanant live 12v+ and switch the neg- (or earth if you prefer)this is the reason it appears that both cables to the headlight bulbs are 12v+ is because you are reading the actual live cable and the earth switch cable is been fed throught the filliment of the bulb until the lights are switched on and the earth is switched and completes the circuit. If you disconnect or remove the bulb you would then be able to clearly identify the 12v+ from the neg-

Having said that,a little modification to the relay cables / connections will have the circuit working ok.Mail me the info on the relay (type and no of connections and the spotlamp bulb wattage and I will mail you a wiring diagram back. Jeff TT

Do these cars actually have headlights?

when i switch mine on nothing happens, it`s

just the same as before i switched them on!!

just driven back from Burton on Trent in the

dark, had to tailgate the car in front to keep on the road!!

WTF were Nissan thinking about??

Does it never go dark in Japan? LMFAO!

Jeff, a very good solution i have no doubt,

I have got a full range of spanners sizes

various, a couple of screwdrivers, i could

borrow the wifes hairdryer! i could even

scrape together £5.99 from down the back of

the setee for the metallic film.

However...................

sadly, patience is not available!

So the next time i go out night driving, i am

going to strap a pair of night vision infra

red glasses to my head LMFAO!
