Another bright idea!!!

I'm sure you guys and gals have had this at one time or another and I'm sure that you enjoy it but I was wondering how you felt about there being a dedicated technical library of known faults and remedies. Obviously it would not solve all problems that arise but it would give passers-by, new comers and forgetful bastards like myself from harassing people about the same boring issue.

I know this means shed loads of work for the administrator boys and at this point they are probably thinking(FFS), but there have been times when the same question has come up in the forum multiple times in the past 3 months that I know of, and I'm relatively new to the site.

If you are all Sado masicists and enjoy the torture of repeating yourselves, then feel free to tell me to STFU.

Just a thought.

100% agree with you! IMO this would actually be better than a dedicated tech forum. For this to work properly, problems would need to be categorised. Such as, say, Suspension, Drivetrain, Engine, interior etc etc etc. This could be made quite easy by simply using the service manual categories wink.gif

There's plenty of people on here with enough knowledge to build something like this up - I for one don't mind putting my bit into it......

Im sure a peice of code could be written to allow a roll-over button to 'Vote to FAQ', so really usefull threads (such as those arguing about Manuals vs Autos etc wink.gif )could automatically be archived on Craigs server.

The thread would have to and should have a *very* descripitive title as the rest would just be archiving it.

Keep'um coming boyz!!!

If a vote to FAQ was used then the best way to do this would be to nominate the person with the best answer to do a write up wink.gif

Agreed.

It will probably be the case that the minority do the majority of the work at the beginning but as new people learn, a few more torches will be lit.

Sounds good to me. TT Net have been doin this for ages it's about time us Brits get technical with FAQ.
