Bridgestone don't do them alegedly.

They do the 285/30/18s for the rears.

NE1 else with this prob?

I'd need a mortgage to buy those - what kind of price? Is 285 not too big without flared arches - my 265s look neat as is.

I want 265s on my one.

Saw on that buy-tyres-online site that Falkens are £110 and reading about them and hearing from people who have them, they are very very good.

If you look on the bridgstone site you and goto the SO3 page it shows you all the sizes they do.

I've have Falcons on the front and they are not that good. Conti's on the rear and they are awful. I just want a really decent set of tyres for once.

I do have flared arches so 265's would look naff. Just checked the site and they don't do 245/35/18's.

Wonder if I would get away with 245/40/18 and 285/35/18's - they do these! Probably rub the arches though and throw the rolling radius out.

The alternative is to get 235/40/18's and 265/35/18's. A) a bit small for 9" and 10" rims. B) I'll need a spacer kit to push the wheels out?

Shit.....decisons.....decisions....

Maybe its the fact you got different tyres on the front and back? the car may be out of balance with the different properties of tyre.

Everyone I have spoken to have said the Falken GRb fk451 are a decent tyre, not the best by any means but very tractable, gradual breakoff, decent wet and dry grip yadda yadda.

But tyres are always down to personal preference, go with what you know and like.

If your car is a weekend plaything then budget tyres are ok, in my experience..as you tend not to use the car in bad weather, anyway.

If it's a daily driver, then a quality wet/dry tyre like the Bridgestone S03 are more necessary.

I got 8.5 front and 10 rears with 235/40/18's and 265/35/18's. Got Falkens all round and they re fine. Got no TC so I drive with gentle feet in the wet! Even had Continental on the back before and they were fine. Before that had bald Falkens but also duff rear shocks, wrong set toe in and the handling in the wet was terrifying. I agree that there are better tyres but they're mostly all good when there's tread on em and they're not too hard compound. The condition of your shocks and bushes make even more difference.

Would think using a spacer kit would be a no no with all the power a Z has. Just asking for stuffed wheel bearings.

IMHO S-02's are better, there's naff all in the grip, but S-02's have better rim protectors then S-03's ! I speak from bitter experience ...

I have conti's on the back and they are not much better than Fulder. Bear in mind i'm running with HKS induction, straight through pipes, Mines ECU and 17psi, ligher pully etc. I've been in 2 Zeds with SO2s and similar power and the grip was awsome in comparison - I'm not kidding, the acceleration in first gear was neck snapping. I have NEVER been able to accelerate in the dry let alone the wet in first gear without the rears loosing traction (and I have an auto!). I do have TC so it does help a bit but I loose so much ground.

I think someone previously mentioned a while back that the grip on the SO2s was better in the wet than his old tyres in the dry. He probably wasn't far from the truth.

At the moment I find the Z a pain to drive especially when trying to keep up with other performance cars. Not because of lack of power, but lack of grip.

If I can get the Falkens cheap enough then I might give them a try and see how they perform as I have them on the fronts already.

Now who can give me a good price on a pair?
